Arriving in the Piazza Trevi to visit the most impressive and artistic of all fountains in Rome that covers the whole of one side of Piazza Poli being 20 metres wide and 26 metres high.

It is here where tourists throw their coins to wish themselves a pleasant return to the Eternal City.

The Trevi Fountains were designed by Leon Battista Alberti in 1453 and commenced being built in 1735 by Nicola Salvi.

The route taken to reach these fountains will be Via Veneto, Porta Pinciana, Villa Borghese, Piazzale Flaminio, Via Flaminia, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Augusto Imperatore and Via del Corso.

From the Trevi Fountains the tour makes it’s way towards Trastevere, passing Piazza Navona, the Pantheon (a classic Roman temple built by Agrippa in 27BC), the Capitol (used for the triumphal processions during the Roman Empire, is presently the house of the Mayor), the Imperial Forum, Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Aventine Hill, the Circus Maximus and the Synagogue.

Climb the Gianicolo Hill located above Trastevere, with spectacular views over Rome and statues commemorating the heroes of the Risorgimento.

The tour returns via the Vatican City and Castel Sant'Angelo, built by Hadrian (A.D. 117-138) in Rome, whose imposing mass still dominates the panorama of Rome.

This tour returns along Via Quattro Fontane, bypasses Piazza Venezia, the very heart of Rome that inherited its name from Palazzo Venezia built in 1455 by the Venetian Cardinal Paul II, and the Monument of Victor Emmanuel II, built at the beginning of this century to celebrate the first King of Italy, is today the Tomb of an unknown Soldier.
